Sharon Bratton plays the piano and Alethea Foster plays the cello in these beautifully and simply performed hymns.

Through playing together at church, Sharon and Alethea discovered that weaving hymn melodies seemed to come naturally for them. One would take the melody while the other played harmony or lightly filled in the gaps.

About The Artists

Sharon brings years of experience as a piano accompanist at her home church. She also owns and operates a music teaching studio, 12th Octave Studios.

Alethea grew her cello skills and abilities through her high school years and eventually began playing music duets with Sharon on Sunday mornings. Alethea’s musical sensibilities, intuition, and attention to detail played a critical role in the arranging and recording of this album!

Backstory

Through discussions with Martin from Flying Oak Music, it was decided that we would record their first album through the summer of 2025. Despite busy schedules, we set a schedule to meet weekly on Tuesdays with a goal to record whatever we could before Alethea headed off to college that fall.

That effort resulted in a total of 14 hymns. We have been listening to them A LOT, but we are pleased to finally bring it to your ears!
