Sharon Bratton plays the piano and Alethea Foster plays cello in these beautifully and simply performed hymns.
Through playing together on Sunday mornings, Sharon and Alethea discovered that weaving hymn melodies seemed to come naturally for them. One would take the melody while the other played harmony or lightly filled the gaps.
Sharon brings years of experience of piano accompanist on Sunday mornings at her home church. She also owns and operates a music teaching studio, 12th Octave Studios
Alethea developed and grew her skills and abilities through her high school years and eventually began playing music duets with Sharon on Sunday mornings. Alethea’s musical sensibilities, intuition, and attention to detail played a critical role in the recording of this album.
Backstory
Through discussions with Martin from Flying Oak Music, it was decided that we would recorded their first album through the summer of 2025. Despite busy schedules we stuck to meeting weekly on Tuesdays with a goal to record what we could before Alethea headed off to college that fall.
This album is a result of that dedicated effort and we are pleased to final bring it to your ears.
